The Biden Presidency

Not shocking, Obama was a boss, much more charming and interesting than Biden, probably because he wasn't an old fart who should be playing golf in florida. Republicans have proven they don't give a **** who's there as longa s they have an R next to their name. Trump could have walked ons tage and been like "Free Abortions to all!" and gotten favorable reviews from Republicans.

I mean, the unvaccinated definitely put a strain on hospitals.

Have enough friends that are doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists to tell me all their horror stories.

Surprised your wife hasn't told you. But then again, you are the smartest doctor in the household.

She's a surgeon. And her practice was shut down for a month in NY bc they made elective surgeries illigal. That's why we had to move to a red state where we weren't completely reliant on a rational government to make money.

She got her shots but not the booster. She wants me to get the shots but my holdout has worked as she finally recognizes they aren't needed at my age and fitness level.

But no doubt I'm smarter than her. She actually used to think Fauci was smart!!

But re Biden... You can't blame everything on unvaccinated people and then lecture us about not using COVID as a dividing topic. Doesn't work like that old man

I’m a Kroger getting some things (still not empty in the store) and just heard a worker say “health is more important than personal freedom”

So much happening here that would trigger a couple posters here

Would love to know what he/her/whatever actually means by that.

I heard him say it to a co worker while trying to figure out which type of turkey I wanted

I didn’t interject myself into the conversation. I got my food and left.

Co worker did reply “not to everyone” ftr when I was walking away

I guess we have been groomed to give up our fweedoms. When they banned smoking at bars and restaurants and planes, they were just setting us up to take our fweedom to carry on as if nothing was up when a contagious virus that has killed millions showed up on our front porch. The harm done by people exercising their fweedoms with respect to masks and vaccines far exceeds the harm caused by second-hand cigarette smoke.

I still think cold hard cash and other financial incentives would have cut through the bull****. Delta started charging its unvaccinated employees $200 more per month for health insurance. And lo and behold they all got vaccinated. Something like that uses the power of incentives (which some prefer to label oppression AND tyranny) to reimburse the rest of society for the costs of the behavior of those would rather not take into account the harm they are causing to others.

In the early days of the vaccine, I hoped there was a positive externality too, but I’m not going to pretend it exists after 20+ months of results on the field.

It’s easy to say “health is more important than personal freedom,” but that’s a bumper sticker. In real life, there are only trade offs.

You're talking to a guy who lectured me there was no inflation

I'm pretty sure I linked an op-ed piece by Larry Summers discussing some of the risks posed by a poorly calibrated (too large) fiscal stimulus. Way back in February 2021.

there it is on 2/4/2021, post #2304 with the comment added by me "Larry Summers asks some hard questions"

http://www.chopcountry.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7833&page=116

occasionally i've fact checked some claims made by you and others about inflation but i doubt very much i've said there was "no inflation"
