My love for AA jumped even more. He gets it. Long interview, great listen.

Transcribing this one part.

"You know, I, for me I think it's a sense of pride. I think winning a world series you're doing it for fanbase, community, and so on, but I think for yourself it's a great career achievement. You have that, it's something you can appreciate especially being in the Atlanta market, being here for, you know it's my 5th year here. Not that I want to jump around as a GM. I feel like I wanna know our market, I wanna know our fanbase, I wanna have a sense of it. I watch the local news. I wanna cheer for the teams. The Hawks, the Falcons, my son is into it, we're into it. There was a lot of low with us in Atlanta. We can't have nice things. UGA is a big deal here and they lost in the national championship years ago, they had a lead at halftime and they lost the game. The Falcons, people talk about 28-3 int he Superbowl. And we were. I'm right there in front of the line. We added to it when we lost the series to the Dodgers up three games to one. We lost in the seventh game by one run in that last game, so we were part of it. So I understand Georgia fans, Atlanta fans being jaded and being skeptical. I'm proud that it's over. We don't have to hear about that anymore. And rewarding the fanbase with that, is probably the thing I'm most proud of."

AA getting super emotional talking about the reaction he received around town. Choking up telling this story how he took his family and friend out to dinner at a restaurant. The staff knew he was coming because they reserved it three weeks in advanced.

The entire staff signed a thank you card for him. He was very touched by it and framed it and put it in his house.

His neighbors on the street had balloons and signs and left gifts on their front door.

He's really emotional talking about giving the community a sense of pride and happiness.

Thanks for sharing and transcribing. I feel really lucky to have him as our GM. He gets it, and I feel a sense of calm with him steering the organization.

Not going to go overboard. He’s not perfect. There have been some things I disagree with.

But it’s really hard to predict the future and that is a big part of being a gm.

He’s very good at his job.

He went for it last year when I thought we should pack it in. Glad he’s in charge and not me.

Typical Canadian groupthink feelgoodery.
