From what I could tell during ST games, Dickerson and Contreras will be platooned at DH with the OF consisting of Ozuna/Duvall/Rosario. Heredia serves as the late game defensive replacement.

Acuna's return seems to coincide with the roster shrinking to 26, at which time guys like Dickerson and Contreras are no longer needed because Acuna/Ozuna will take the bulk of the DH PAs.
 
Hopefully Dickerson can do something with the bat because, if not, I'd rather just see Heredia out there and Ozuna/Rosario DH'ing.
 
I don’t like our IF depth. Wish AA could have found an upgrade over Arica.

Snit did an ok job of managing the parts and pieces of outfielders last year. Maybe that will continue and the outfield can fake it until Acuna is back.

I’m not sure the reason for 3 catchers other than having no other Infield options.

I agree, but I think I'm lower on his bat than others.

Dickerson is a good hitter vs RH. I think he stays on the team all year. He breaks down a lot. But if you play him sparingly I think he's a guy that could get you a wrc+ north of 110. Clearly we are trying to get a 2019 Matt Joyce season out of him.

I think when the rosters decrease and acuna is back we will lose Contreras and Strider to go down and develop. I think they'll DFA Newcombe and hope he gets through waivers with everyone having a roster crunch. He shouldn't. A tanking team should grab him, let him start. He's most likely to help you tank but there is a chance he puts it together and you look like a genius.

Strider is most likely a Relief arm, but I think he should still be given a chance to show he can start in the minors. Contreras, IMO is only a plus hitter at catcher. HE needs to catch. Our two MLB catchers are older and TDA has a lot of injury history. Contreras needs to be ready to catch this year.

I would've definitely preferred to keep Adrianza over Arcia.
 
Late Q, but did Luke blow out in a spring training game or was it something lingering that played into the off-season bullpen work?
