Global Events & Politics Überthread

What Russia needs is a Konrad Adenauer type leader who can shepherd it in the direction of becoming a normal bougee country. But it is ultimately up to them to figure out their future.

France had delusions about Algeria similar to Putin's delusions about Ukraine. It almost tore the country apart.

It sounds like Brimstone missiles and SwitchBlade drones may be on the verge of being widely deployed by Ukraine. That will make things much harder than they've been to this point for the Commies.

Deploying these things from trucks is a game changer.

The Russians are actually having some success with their main line of advance. The press for the most part has been too busy cheerleading to report on this. However, the longer-term outlook for Vlad remains dim. At the rate Ukraine is being armed by the U.S. and other countries, it will have the ability to take the offensive by the end of the summer. A year from now they will have regained all the territory lost this year. And maybe a bit more.

Brimstone can also be used in an anti-ship role, so the easy amphibious landings Russia has used in the past won't be so safe anymore.

it's so wild that we have so little time to be alive and on earth and all the advances we have made as humans

it's use those advancements to build war machines so a few people can "rule" small parts of the world

a system that deceives itself

there is no better way of putting it

It is clear with that response you were unable to comprehend what Smith said

I remember when republicans on ths board were up in arms any time someone shared Jon Stewart being like "who gets news from comedians?" now we get sturg and duhduh sharing stuff from failed comics as actual news, not just to laugh at sad state of America. Which seems like a Jon Stewart bit so it's something like life interpreting art interpreting life? Is that right? Hard to figure things out.

Well Smith is potentially running for president on the L ticket

But what about his point do you disagree with and why?
