In a Fox News appearance Thursday morning, Republican Georgia Senate nominee Herschel Walker offered a vague proposal on surveilling social media to prevent mass shootings in the wake of Tuesday's attack at a Texas elementary school that left at least 19 children and two adults dead.

"You talk about doing a disinformation," Walker continued, "what about getting a department that can look at young men that's looking at women, that's looking at their social media? What about doing that, looking into things like that, and we can stop that that way?"

btw...the FBI does monitor school computers...something I support...and they go to websites and chatrooms where certain types of criminal activity are known to occur

so Herschel's idea, while vague and potentially too much of an infringement on civil liberties, could if narrowly tailored not be a bad one

I think this is a bit off the mark. He is not a professional politician. Which is to be welcomed. It also means he'll make a certain amount of rookie mistakes. But we should be willing to forgive some of that in people outside the political class.

Nah, he’s trash with cte

Well I don't hold his discussion about his mental illness against him. I find it refreshing and courageous. I once hired a programmer with schizophrenia and never regretted it. She was upfront about it and told me about it during her interview.

I wonder if Justin is ok with the FBI monitoring school computers. I'm familiar with this because when my son was in high school two of his friends had the bright idea of searching "how to build a bomb" on the school computer they were using. The FBI swooped in. They were suspended pending psychological evaluations. One was allowed back quickly, but the with the other the evaluation turned up some issues that required a longer absence.

What a sick joke that he might end up being my senator

He's going to say stuff like that. As I said some of this needs to be accepted as part of the learning curve for a novice politician.

I've been telling y'all for years that it would be better if less stupid people voted but y'all were full steam ahead.on the idiots voting

I think education and better information are superior solutions than making it more difficult for low information voters to vote..
