5/29 GDT: Going for a series win against marlins

And he didn't want to be here.

The baseball change has really ****ed Olson over among others.

I don't know if he wanted to be here or not. I thought it was more he thought he had more leverage than he did. I was fine with getting Olson, but we've clearly downgraded significantly SO FAR

It won't last

I hope not, but check this out...

Stolen from my miss state message board...

the mets have about a 7ish year cycle give or take a year:

Year 1: Awful
Year 2: Awful
Year 3: Awful with new IL record
Year 4: Awful
Year 5: Awful
Year 6: Awful
Year 7: Team of destiny

Going back to 86 this is pretty accurate give or take a year.
86: Champs
93: trash
00: Lost WS
06: Lost NLCS; 07: collapsed only like the Mets know how
15: Lost WS
22: These mfs.

LFGM. (Sorry but I can't stand Atlanta sports and Seaver / Strawberry / Piazza / Wright / deGrom have been much more likable for me)

I’m more concerned for now about this team showing it can actually string together several wins in a row. 19 games against the Diamondbacks, Rockies, Oakland, Pirates, Nationals, Cubs coming up. This needs to be a 14-5 type stretch.

I'm pretty optimistic tonight... I think the braves are gonna be just fine. I expect Olson, ozuna, Riley, and Ozzie are gonna get hot together soon, and the braves are gonna make a run

I'm just not that impressed with the Mets. Sure they're good and I wish we had their record but they don't strike me as some sort of juggernaut. If they can keep this pace, we're out of it. However, I'll believe it when I see them do it over the course of a season.

Gotta hope their pitching staff doesn't get healthy. If they add degrom and scherzer back, it's gonna be tough to catch them

deGrom yes but he'll be coming in cold in the middle of the season so I doubt he'll be his vintage self immediately. As far as Scherzer, I think the Mets may have rolled the wrong dice on a (almost) 38 year old power pitcher as those guys don't tend to age well no matter how impressive "the back of their baseball card" is.
