That is in the short term. If the future was completely bleak and a lonely existence for the country it would still collapse despite the money coming in from Petro sales.

The fact of the matter is Russia has future trade partners in the CCP/India to a greater extent they've ever had. A full decoupling with the West is now in their future (but not really since they have one through proxy with the CCP) and they'll be doing just fine.

You’re completely right, but the joke is still dumb. Even if we agree that the terminology for black people can be wrong, joking that a white man who benefitted greatly from Apartheid is an African American supporter is still a lame thing to do. It shouldn’t be the source of outrage, but it’s gooberish behavior. That’s basically been my exact opinion on DeSantis from the beginning, he’s a goober. His team is smart enough to know what to say to rile up the Left and provoke the responses he can attack as “out of touch wokeism” or some ****. It’s smart politics, but it comes across to me as particularly disingenuous. For that, he reminds me a bit of Hillary Clinton with a different political view. Something just always seems off to me.

You would have to define harm first. I assume you mean paying more for certain items. For example, Trumps trade wars harmed lots of Americans wallets.
