Remember when we NEEDED starting pitching? Who knew that it would be because Anderson was a stiff now... (watch him pitch 18 innings 1 run ball in the playoffs this year)
With Wright/Strider taking the leap this year AA can get VERY creative in the offseason.
The change is already looking much more developed.
I think one strength of the current regime is they're identifying players who can absorb and incorporate coaching quickly. That's what separates a Toussaint (as much as I love the kid) from a Strider, or a Waters (as much as I don't care) from a Harris.
Which to me is a great point. It's still early, but to date, has AA traded away anyone who has really made a significant impact elsewhere? (The Olson trade is still obviously wait and see)

Harris however was listed as being a top 100 prospect on multiple lists.
So if he finished in the top 3 in ROY voting he will be granted a full year of service time this season. If he finished 2nd or 3rd the Braves would get an extra international draft pick if that's implemented (unlikely) and if he wins ROY then the Braves will get an extra pick in the amateur draft next year.
Assuming he keeps playing well he's a lock for a top 3 finish.

26% swinging strike rate on 93 pitches.
That’s so incredibly elite.
Strider is a stud and at this point he’d have to fail miserably to take him out of the rotation.
Moving to a six man makes much much sense when soroka is back.
Strider was on opening day roster so if he finished in top 3 of ROY or top 5 of CY voting we get and extra pick next year. He also seems like a lock to be in top 3.
He had to be on the opening day roster, right?
Pretty sure you have to be a concensus top 100 prospect to get the pick. It's an effort to stop service time manipulation of top prospects.
No. He has to have a full season of sevice time. And if he's top 2 in the voting he automatically gets awarded a full season regardless of when he came up.
Not sure I agree with putting top 100 stip on that rule. Arbitrary lists are BS. Guys are either good or bad coming up and some guys fly through system faster than lists can be updated.
New Prospect Promotion Incentive (PPI) draft selections will be made available to clubs that place top prospects on Opening Day rosters. If an eligible prospect is promoted to the major league roster, receives a full year of service time and receives “sufficient” awards consideration in any season before he qualifies for arbitration, the team will receive a PPI selection in one or both of the draft and the international draft, if implemented.
Me: I think you might be right but I always see this rule mentioned in pairing with OD rosters, so I’m not entirely sure what the stipulations are.
