REAL FOOTBALL Thread

@AdamSchefter: Atlanta Falcons are open to trading up in draft. #Falcons are first team known to be willing to go up.

Would be incredibly dumb if it happens.

What would be "incredibly dumb"?
Moving up in any draft isn't inherently dumb. It's about what a team gives up to move up.

Some people believe Clowney is the best defensive player to enter the draft since LT. If you believe this guy is going to be LT then you absolutely have to make sure you get him.

Falcons depth is awful essentially everywhere because of their bad drafts the last 3-4 years and they have way too many holes.

Clowney wont change that.

If the Falcons moved up to 2 giving up 6 and say their 4th and 7th would that be dumb? Being open and actively going for it are different beasts.

Why would a team say they weren't willing to move up or down at this time? That would be stupid.

Of course not but its gonna cost more than 2 to move up.

Perhaps, depends on how bad a team wants to move back and how bad they want to move up. And I think that's what the Falcons will be looking at. Who knows if they'll consider paying a lot to move up. I hope they don't but no choice but to trust management.

This is nothing new to report with TD and Falcons, has said this from the get go. Doesn't want to shut down any possibilities for now... No reason to either.

After moving way up to take Julio Jones saying TD would consider moving up is not shocking. What would be more shcoking is the Falcons saying they want to move down.

Oak traded from 3 to 13 and only got a 2 out of it.

So i suppose they could just swap 1's and give up a 2, maybe a later pick.

That doesn't matter a whole lot though in the grand scheme of things. The overall talent on the board is what sets the price. Clowney is substantially more in demand than Dion Jordan who, before the 2013 draft, was projected to go anywhere from Top 5 to out of the top 10. Clowney is unanimously regarded as a lock to be one of the 1st 5 picks.

I'd imagine anyone trading for Clowney will be giving up quite a large bounty.
