He had better PR and the previous admin left him in a much better situation. I am not keeping track very much but in terms of jobs and lowering the defecit Biden has a much better record.

i find it weird when trump talked about jobs coming back after reopening from covid it was a praise for the orange one from the usual suspects talking about numbers now

we have been open for a long time now, unemployment lower than it was precovid but those numbers don't count for some reason now

Almost certain most of us here mocked the idea of Trump saying he got all those jobs when it was just a return to pre-ccp virus.

At least Trump had the claim that he created those jobs initially as opposed to Biden who has been nothing but a dumpster fire.

Think people underestimate how popular Trump is with the AMerican people. Don't believe the bogus results of the 2020 election. He won a landslide and will do so again in 2024.

I don't get it with you and Trump.

he was the right guy at the time in 2016... but he had CATASTROPHIC failures in the covid space... he simply failed to fire the people he needed to fire. He surrounded himself with buffoons who ****ed him over.

It's time to pass the torch to someone less manipulable to ass kissing.
 
I think you and mostly everyone here underestimates the size and scope of the administrative state. Trump faced unprecedented opposition and he still had the best results based presidency in a century. Imagine if the CCP didn't launch a global pandemic? In the meantime he may have permanently changed the dynamic of the voting population. We are supposed to just ignore how popular he is with Hispanics and Black men right now?

In regards to the his COVID failures he did stress that the states should have control over their policies which enabled some governors to take the lead or show that they were incompetent.

There is no guarantee Desantis wins a national election once the left turns on the propoganda machine on him.

Desantis has actually shown how to handle the administrative state rather than just whine about it.

Trump elevated dictators everywhere and they are the reason he lost. He's not smart enough to break down the system as he proved. He failed.

He is also quite old and quite volatile

Desantis has not begun to deal with the administrative state that Trump had to deal with. Trump had the FBI/CIA/NSA and any other alphabet agency you want to cite against him. You've seen it all which is shocking that you would compare the two situations.

We also don't know what Desantis instincts will be on foreign policy. He has already supported red flag laws.

I'll be happy if Desantis runs and wins but give me the guy that had the results in the biggest seat with the whole world against him.

Did he fail when the public consciousness of administrative state is at an all time high and we now have dozens of candidates running on, and winning, with a message of deconstructing it?

Did you expect him to destroy the administrative state that has been building since FDR in one term? This is going to take a decade at least to unwind the damage that has been done.

As I said... he was the right guy for the time... he woke a lot of people up to the rot in the system. But he proved incapable of handling the rot himself... Frankly, he's just not smart enough... and his ego is too easily to manipulate. It is what it is.

If he wins the nomination, I'll vote for him. But I don't think he's the best option, not by a long shot

Oh I'm confident he would win. I'm just more confident in Trump since it took a GLobal pandemic / outright lies by the Pravda / Globalist cheating a million ways to 'beat' him.

Unless something changes dramatically I think Trump cruises to the nomination. I'm fine if I'm wrong about that.

I think you are also discounting how it will be a long process to unwind the administrative state.
