Krgrecw, why are you so such an Apple snob?

I'm sorry but I've used plenty of Apple products, and while the large majority are quality products, they are nowhere near the top operating systems for the most part.

For phones, iPhones are severely lacking customization. I have a 4 yr old DROID X, which I hate, but can't currently get rid of due to paying for a wedding and not wanting to lose my unlimited with Verizon. But even my 4 yr old crappy Droid X is more customizable than the IPhone 5s. Other than being trendy, I don't get the appeal of the iPhone.

Apple computers I will admit are far superior to most PC's I've used. But they are also twice the price tag normally. I can understand someone who works from home, or is constantly on their home computer to be willing to pay the extra price. But for the everyday person who doesn't use their home computer all that often (probably the majority of home computer owners) I don't see why buying a Mac would be appealing (again, other than being trendy).

The iPad is nowhere near the top operating tablet, imo. I bought the iPad Air when it cam out. I sold it after a month and now own the Windows Surface Pro. There is no comparison to how much better the Surface Pro is than the iPad.

I just don't get the whole Apple superiority thing.

Didn't mean to come across like a snob. With iWork and google drive being pretty much free I think asking someone to subscribe and pay $9.99 for a similar service is stupid and it won't be big.

I like apple due to Thier ecosystem. everything I have is right There on iCloud. I've always used apple products since day 1. That's what I'm used to.

Fappity fap fap.

I have a Surface Pro 2 from work and hardly use it as in less than 3 hours total. Its clunky, heavy, and the OS is crap.

I don't get the lack of customizations beef everyone has, I have never had the urge to customize things on my iOS devices that I couldn't do.

You mean the idea that Google and Windows use too? Cloud storage is there everywhere. iCloud is just another way for Apple to lock people into their ecosystem. Closed ecosystems suck. Apple is the king of the closed ecosystem.

How are you getting that ****ty of battery life on it? All reports I've read are 6+ hours. Do you have like max brightness and cranking your processor?

It is clunky and heavy though, because it's a computer. If the iPad had an i5 processor it would be way heavier and clunkier. You're comparing apples and oranges.

And you don't get it probably because you never had the choice. The example I give everyone is pretty clean. If you want to use a different keyboard, texting service, default web browser, or default navigation, in android you can, in iOS you can't. That's of course just a few examples of why Android is a vastly superior ecosystem to iOS.

I enjoy Apple's hardware, I think they do a good job approaching things from a visual standpoint without compromising hardware capabilities. I'm not a fan of their OSs though. But other people love them and if they do, then that's their right as a consumer. Personally I'd never go with it. As a personal consumer, my strategy is use and toss. I buy cheap computers and then use them then junk tem in 3 years. I used to buy into the high end thing when I gamed but now that I don't game anymore. I can just buy 3 mid range computers over say 10 years instead of 1 high end computer that may last me 10, but almost certainly wont without some heavy changing. Plus odds are aside from graphics and ram, the computer I'd replace it with second cycle will likely be similar in performance. Apple does not fit into that mold though. Where the cheapest laptop they have is about a grand.

Again, you can like Apple, you're totally allowed to and there are many reasons to like Apple, but the way that some fanboys go at it slobbering over Apple's knob is insane.

So HTC M8 (the new HTC One) was announced and released today. Pretty shocking.

Personally I'd take it over the GS5. GS5 has a bit better specs on the processor side, but the dual camera and 5 MP front facing camera make it a better device for most people JMO.

That said, LG G2 is still almost as good if not better than the new flagships. So get one of them for cheap if you want to save a little.

Also Google signed an agreement to work with the maker of Rayban and Oakley to work on high fashion google glass products.

Yeah, **** Facebook.

Looking more forward to Playstation's Project Morpheus at this point.

Problem is that Oculus is a sick platform already, Facebook is just gonna figure out a ridiculous with too much monetizing BS that will limit it's creative potential. I don't blame the Oculus guys for selling, odds of them seeing 2B is slim.

I don't know, virtual environments are going to be huge in the next 5 years or so. There's a lot of money to be made.

I agree, but richer companies can invest more into R&D and would poach it eventually.

I just hope Facebook gives Oculus the funding it needs to develop the Rift as originally intended -- as a gaming platform -- and doesn't try to recraft the technology to fit its own business model (think virtua-Farmville). Recent developments considered, I would put my money behind Morpheus. Sony has all the right utilities in place; imaging tech, multi-platform development experience, and, of course, the Playstation ecosystem. Not discounting Oculus though. Smart money is on the Rift hitting the market first.

I'm not convinced this is a bad thing. Sounds like he is going to let them do what they want and just give them tons of money to do it with. ANYTHING that increases VR interest is a good thing, in my opinion.

Don't think OR and virtual gaming are going to ever be big. Some company that was into Virtual gaming was on Shark Tank a while back and the Sharks more or less agreed that it looks fun for a few minutes but it gets tiring. People want to sit down and play video games not have to move around to play.

Move makes no since for Facebook.

"People want to sit down" that's your average person.

I think gamers would love it on certain games, especially FPS.

You don't necessarily need to move around to play. You can have the 3D on and just play with a control to move and then turn your head to look.

I watched the video of the guy driving the semi truck for occulus rift and he just had to sit there.

A zombie game would be amazing with the VR.

Yeah but don't you more or less have to sit/stand straight up to play? If you were to slouch or sloop I imagine it wouldn't be as precise.

Maybe I'm writing this off to early. I'm not a gamer

I'm sure you can adjust the axis to whatever you'd like.

The possibilities are endless really.
