Then it is what it is. Unless he’s ambidextrous and Matzek can hit the DL.
I don't think Lee being down for what will likely be a pretty short period of time is as big a deal as you're making it out to be.

I think he continues to wander in and out of problems with the yips (easier to hide as a reliever I'd guess but his walk rates the past 2 years remain pretty bad). Add on the decreased velocity (shoulder problems = bad) and you have minimal effectiveness. Matzek needs to be the one to go even though he will be one of my favorite all time Braves.

I'd try to convince him to IL the rest of the season. Let the shoulder heal, and try it again in ST
If we’re talking imminently with the coming activation of Yates, then that’s more than three weeks, a stretch that includes a seven-game home stand with the Mets and Astros and a series at St. Louis. That’s also three weeks of two lefties in the pen and this board being in full meltdown mode wondering why Snit isn’t pitching a lefty in every single mid-game situation that calls for a lefty. Not to mention one of said lefties being Matzek who doesn’t have it right now.
Imminently, I would personally send Anderson down and keep the extra pen arm.
We also used the sh** out of Matzek in the playoffs and that takes a toll. Jackson out for the season, and Will Smith was also not the same guy. Only Minter really survived unscathed. Bumgarner was never the same after his last WS. That many high-leverage innings takes a toll.
Minter has been ridden like a horse the last two postseasons.
