GDT 8/7/22: Braves @ Mutts - Series Finale

I’m so sick of mlb giving the ump dead balls when the Braves bat and live balls when the Mets bat.

I’m so sick of the replay officials always making calls in favor of the Mets over the Braves.

I’m so sick of the umps making calls to ruin the Braves chances.

I’m so sick of the shadows creeping up when the Braves bag and then vanishing when the Mets bat.

I’m so sick of mlb shining lights in the eyes of Braves fielders to cause errors.

Did I miss any of the reasons the Braves have lost a few games?

Mets players on PEDs.

And for the record, I think lots of players (not just degrom) have used PEDs to further their career. It's totally worth it imo.

I just gave you one. Charlie Morton.

Morton's velocity has gone up and down across his career. He's averaged 94.5 and has consistently been within 2 mph of that. The "jump" in velocity people tale about was around 3 mph. He went from 93 to 96.

Degrom's was at 94 mph at age 28 and has added velocity every single year since. He now averages almost 100. I've never seen anything even close to like that.

People remark on a 3 mph spike by Morton. DeGrom has seen an increase of twice that.

The Braves don’t seem to have any cohesive plan as an offense when they face a tough pitcher. The Dodgers and Mets do.

I've remarked in this before. There are some guys you need to shorten up against and focus on driving their pitch count up. Scherzer and DeGrom are two. Instead we seem to get jumpy and even more aggressive.

Morton was pretty consistently throwing 98-100 with the Astros. He reaches those at times here.

You missed a couple of other common themes from the past few days:

The Braves are playing poorly and with zero confidence.

The Mets are a good team that's playing really well right now.

[Edit] If FF were still in Atlanta (and if the Braves would try harder) we'd never lose another game.

Well, someone isn’t usually a generational talent due to progressing like every other non-generational talent. Unicorns are unicorns for a reason…they are special.
