Minor league thread

I agree. Questions are how much power and can he stick up the middle?

Walk rate was great before. So did approach change? Maybe aa pitchers are just challenging him more? Maybe aa pitchers better control? Maybe just sss?

Just SSS. There’s a lot of noise in BB rate in a small sample.

Dang. We are about to lose the farm system ratings championship again.

How many farm systems have been able to add bonifide major league players to an already very good team at the rate the Braves has.

I will take the L on the farm system ratings to keep this up.

Dodgers and Astros have been doing this for a decade

It's not just the number of guys coming up, it's the lack of busts. How many position prospects have busted in the last 5 years? Pache and.....Waters if you were completely blind to the giant red flags?

These guys haven't even been struggling much. They just show up and contribute. We should be ecstatic over what we've been seeing with Braves position prospects. It isn't supposed to be this easy.

Pitching prospects? That's a whole other matter.

We will see if the new regime’s better at identifying pitching talent than the old one. They seem to have gone all in identifying pitchers of a certain ilk in the draft. Strider has paid off but the other pitchers we have taken under this regime have been underwhelming.

They’ve done a good job picking relief pitchers off the scrap heap at least.

We all know how I feel about the old regime but unfortunately (fortunately?) AA won't be in a position to draft guys like Anderson/Wright as well as trade for Fried based on where the current team stands.

And it certainly is not something that happens for every team. I play enough deep fantasy leagues to track alot of prospects coming up, and outside of the Cardinals, our rate of return on hitters is probably the best.

Some of them are impossibly frustrating, like Jared Kelenic. The kid tears the cover off the ball in AAA but can't even be a league average hitter in the majors - gets sent back down, and proceeds to tear the cover off the ball in AAA.

have to chalk that up to identification and development, no?
