GDT 8/16/22: Braves vs Mutts - Let the Revenge Continue

What am I more stoked for. Eating the Mets by 3 hitting the ****ers. Soroka destroying the rookies. Or MH2 locking in.


I gotta put Soroka as my number 1 but what a freaking day.
 
They took care of business, finally vs the Mets.

I still feel like we are better at almost every position.

But the thing that makes the Mets scary in the playoffs is max and degrom. Here it comes.

Can you get 1?
 
If we beat both Scherzer and deGrom would that break their spirit for the division? I could see them spiral a little bit (still take the top WC spot) with their other rotation guys hurt.

I think if we sweep them, they stumble a bit. They have been scuffling a bit on offense anyway.. but to lose these next two games could be a dagger.
 
Mets schedule is a cakewalk rest of the way - Division would be great but ultimately as long as the Braves are playing well come October nothing will stand in our way!
 
I keep seeing folks talking about how to get rid of Ozuna and I have always believed the Braves would never attach a prospect to him to have him go away.. such a bad way to use resources.. But for a contending team that could really use the salary relief, I am starting to warm to the idea. Maybe toss 2 lottery ticket guys or 1 and some cash and see if a rebuilding team would take him.

If we get to Max and Jake the next 2 nights and make them use that pen, then the rest of this month will be hard for them. Question on their starters, another double header this weekend and the Yanks to follow.. It is a pretty cake schedule in Sept, but the Braves don't have a world beater schedule themselves in Sept... could get interesting.

Use Anderson and it’ll entice somebody to take him. We’d still have Fried, Morton, Wright, Stider, Soroka with Shuster, Elder, Muller, Ynoa as AAA backup. I don’t hate Anderson and think he is still useful I just think that money could be used to upgrade LF or the rotation.

That feels a bit of an over pay. But maybe that is what it will take.

With Carrasco and Walker getting hurt the past two nights, it really is going to come down to if DeGrom and Scherzer can stay healthy.

This is a great point. Could have some issues with run prevention the rest of the way.
 
Let’s not try to smell too much blood in the water, the Mets can still go

Peterson
Megill (he’s back soon)

Obviously a very strong rotation and CC and Walker will be back in September (against an extremely easy one schedule).

Ideally the Braves put enough pressure on the Mets that either we win the division outright or the Mets have to push Max and DeGrom hard before the playoffs.

The last part should definitely be a goal for the Braves. After that whatever happens happens.
