Minor league thread

Yeah at this point it's probably safer to exercise that option. I know the article earlier in the year had us drooling over DeGrom, but that's probably not realistic, and Morton has proven to be a workhorse. Definitely a safer pick for 1 year compared to 3/4 years that DeGrom seems likely to command.

Man Soroka coming back in September would be huge. He was our best starter when he went down and with how good Fried is that would probably still be true. Dude is a stud.

I’d say 2 rehab starts for Soroka and he’ll be up as long as he’s feeling ok. This is a great sign that he wasn’t feeling sore after his last start. We could be getting an ace back in 2 weeks. That’s huge especially with how Odorizzi has pitched. Fried, Soroka, Morton, Wright, and Strider next year is legit.

Milligan making himself a potential util/bench option moving forward could be a nice addition to the future squad.

Is Milligan REALLY good with the glove? The bat doesn't seem worthy of a late inning PH role, but above avg defense at multiple positions could have value I guess.

Owen Murphy with another great outing today in the complex league against a Rays team that has some quality college draftees in it: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K. I'm assuming he's done now.

In his two starts, that brings him to 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K.

Murphy and Richie are enormously important prospects. The Braves could have a serious starting pitching problem in a few seasons with attrition and guys possibly leaving.
