Now we gotta figure out where to play Malloy before we extent him…. I guess he and Grissom can alternate LF and DHing and Grissom and Ozzie can rotate at 2B some or maybe get Malloy to learn catcher to platoon with Bill…..

Dana Brown and his staff do the heavy lifting.

For sure - Whatever they do they do it well.

I have been outspoken about the decision to part ways with Clark/Bridges but I think all Brave fans now understand (many before the recent success) that the organization is in great hands for the foreseeable future with AA. Hope he is the leader of the franchise for the next 20 years.

Well said

Not only well said, but also a point - I hope the Braves have done to AA what he has done for them - locked his ass up to an ironclad long term contract such that the Yankees, Sox, etc can’t decide one day they want what the Braves have …and come back up a Wells Fargo truck full of uncut diamonds in front of AA’s house.

I think it may have been last year, his title was changed to the newer fancier President of Baseball Operations. Unlike the others he doesn’t have a GM under him though.

Looks like FCL and DSL seasons are over. The interesting guys on the FCL all got promoted to Augusta. DSL numbers aren’t very pretty. Our big money guys - Diego Benitez and Douglas Glod - weren’t very good. Hopefully that changes when they come stateside next year.

You can’t judge DSL numbers based on base stats. 17 year olds with their walk rates/peripherals are very encouraging. Also Glod was on fire to end the season. Didier Fuentes had an incredible first season as a starting pitcher with a great K/BB ratio.

Benitez had a 16% walk rate and a 20% K-rate
Glod had a 17% walk rate but a 28% K-rate… still like I said. He was on fire the past month or two.

Didier Fuentes 44ip in 11 starts: 10.23 K/9, 2.05 BB/9, 2.25 ERA/2.95 FIP/2.88 xFIP

Maximo Maria is another interesting DSL follow. 17 years old.

18.9% walk rate, but 32.3% K-rate… 110 wRC+

17 year olds with those walk rates = more important than most other stats in DSL IMO

Careful with walk rates at that level.

Some of these pitchers can't find the zone.

While that is true, those rates are typically something to dream on considering its the most /all the exposure some have had to any sort of pro ball. In Benitez's case, before going on the restricted list, his power was displayed in the first three games with both homeruns. He walked I think 6/7 times in his first 8 games. Again...something to glimpse at of nothing else.

Thank you for educating me about something I’m well aware of. It’s still a better proxy to look at than average or counting stats in the DSL and impressive for 17 year olds

I'm of the belief that stats in these leagues are completely meaningless.

I've been wrong before
