GDT 8/26/22: Braves @ Cardinals - Attack on the Birdhouse

Buehler has been out since early June... they've been just as good since.

Remember the 2000s when braves were a beast regular season team but could never get the job done in October. That’s the Dodgers this year.

Book it.

Mets back end of pen is good so max and degrom probably go six* four out of seven games.

Mets will be tough. Dodgers are sunk now after Walker B injury.

I doubt the Mets would risk throwing DeGrom four games. They have Bassit and Walker with Carrasco. Regarding the Dodgers, they havent had Buehler for 2+ months and still have been kicking the **** out of teams. If you think they're an easier out than the Mets, i dont know what to tell you.

Strider and Harris neck and neck for ROY... Strider now a 3.6 fWAR, Harris 3.4 fWAR

So impressive when you also add in what Grissom is doing plus Contreras (who's not a rookie officially but is certainly a young breakout guy)

All the talk about possibly trading Ozzie or Grissom, there's nothing wrong with having too many good baseball players. Aka Dodgers. Regarding ROY, dont think you can really go wrong with Harris or Strider. Both have been incredible, i'd slightly lean Harris though.

4 games?

Him and scherz are pitching 4 games and therefore they have the pitching advantage in the majority of games in seven game series.

Dodgers will be on the low side of all games against either Mets or braves.

The Dodgers lineup runs circles and circles and circles around the Mets, so whatever SP advantage they have they give back.

Dodgers top 3 starters, Gonsolin, Anderson and Urias are top 12 in ERA. It's not like they're throwing scrubs out there. They can more than hold their own vs Scherzer/DeGrom. Looks like Dodgers face DeGrom next week but avoid Scherzer.

We as Braves fans should know in a five game series anything can happen

Dodgers definitely the best team. Albeit they ironically were arguably more “dangerous” last year going into playoffs with the rotation they had last year.

They should be favored against anyone but the idea that we also couldn’t beat them is crazy

Even if the Mets have a pitching advantage, it's not like the Dodgers starters are scrubs. It's not a huge gap. Lineup advantage is heavily tilted to the Dodgers like you said though.

Dodgers were running on fumes last year, we got them at the right time. Scherzer had a dead arm, Kershaw was out, Max Muncy was out, they had to throw BP games because of lack of starters. They at least have options this year with Anderson, Urias, Heaney, Kershaw when he's back, Gonsolin and Dustin May is back. Lineup wise it's about the same but Freeman for Seager.

I do think the Braves can beat them, would be a very big challenge if they're healthy and would most likely have homefield.

Aside from Urias those guys are not anything special - I don't care what type of year they are having. Degrom/Scherzer are leaps and bounds better than all of them.

Heck - I think Bassit is right there with either of those three guys as well with maybe Urias getting a slight edge. Then you have other decent options for the Mets as well that are nothing to discount.

I don’t worry about either team. Just win. The Dodgers are light years better than the Mets, though. It’s silly to even debate
