This was never the next step but you’re fully aware of it. Evidence in an audit typically leads an auditor to perform additional procedures to ensure that the metric presented is not materially misstated or there isn’t fraud present.
But again, we have gone over this a million times and you are willfully choosing to warp the argument. You’re entitled to your desired approach.

Ah yes, the argument that Republicans wont let you do the level of audit you want so clearly the only explanation is that they are secret Democrats who spent their whole lives deep undercover just in case Trump runs for President they can protect the evidence he was screwed. 50 freaking states with your side controlling more than half and not one did the full on cavity search of the transgender routers or whatever you want.
If Republicans win in 2024 you know damn well there STILL wint be an audit to your satisfaction. If you dont like it blame dear leader because he could have had this after the 2016 elections. A couple of things the media hasn't focused on about the stolen documents.
1 - Who were the people in the WH that allowed the documents to be unlawfully taken and why didn't they report it earlier? Or did they? Did they also commit crimes or at least unlawful acts? I'm assuming there is clear protocol on documents.
2 - Trump spends his summers in NJ, leaving the documents completely unguarded down at Mar a Lardo.
3 - Is there no one in the government who knows exactly how many top secret and classified documents are missing??? If so, why not?
4 - Which country's nuclear secrets did he take and why?
