10.11.2022: NLDS Game 1 - Phillies at Braves

This is officially a brutal loss. I do think this bodes well for the offense moving forward. They’ve likely shaken the rust off.

Identical game in so many ways to Cardinals game one loss few years ago. A game we should have won, went down by 3 in last inning, Freeman and Acuna hit back to back bombs in 9th to make one run game then we lose.

This one hurts.

Perhaps the worst OF defender in the sport just saved the game for Phils. They had the luck today, that's for sure.

Again, Snitker thinking Chavez is a high-leverage pitcher comes back to haunt the Braves.
Loss is on Fried, for sure, but better bullpen usage could have kept it manageable.

Also, getting very comfortable letting Fried walk after his contract. Flu or not, it looks more and more like Game 6 was the abberation, and today closer to the norm for him.

Don’t believe that at all…If Chavez’s sorry ass pitch they don’t use their closer for 2+…closer game we face thwir big arms late and lose…this game is on Max…100%…you wanna decline extensions and be the biggest d*ck LH in baseball….fckn act like it…don’t be a bitch in the playoffs outside one game of the playoffs…

This one hurts given:

-Contreras 2-1 call with bases loaded a real swing moment
-Chavez??? comes into a still close game with our entire pen rested? How do you lose a 1-run game in a game 1 of the postseason and your three best relievers never pitched and we have a day off after tomorrow and we have been off for a week? That is malpractice
-High leverage AB given to Grissom who was deemed unplayable the past month, when Grossman is up vs. a lefty and has a platoon advantage and Ozuna as an option off the bench? If Grossman can't take that AB then Ozuna needs to be starting, its that simple

Not trying to be a Snit hater but these are really shocking levels of mistakes. Why not bring in Collin in a 4-1 game and preserve the optionality to punt the game later on? If it was 7-1 in the 7th inning, bring on Chavez, let him pitch 3 innings and save the pen. I still can't believe that
