10.11.2022: NLDS Game 1 - Phillies at Braves

Nah, Wright is fine. But Strider for Game 3 to matchup with Nola has to be the move regardless of the result of Game 2.

If you win tomorrow, you could save strider for game 4. On paper, it would give pretty decisive advantage for games 4 and 5

Hey guys - it’s the damn playoffs … we need Slippy running the game threads — and way more Coors Light around here!

Looking forward to game two - I seriously doubt we lose another one to Philly.
LFG Braves !

Move to Thursday…it’s going to be a wash pretty much after 3 pm here today.

yeah, probably be another damn 1 pm day game on Thursday and then a quick turn around for Friday night in Philly with a packed house because MLB gives them all night games at home.

On my highly accurate weather app (built in on iPhone), it just shows 40% from 5-7 eastern and 30% from 8-1. If this is accurate, a preemptive postponement seems pretty stupid

That’s a computer algorithm. I wouldn’t trust it. There’s a real chance we are raining non stop from just before game time all the way until 7-9pm

If they were smart they’d just delay to 7pm or 8pm. Don’t postpone till Thursday. Can’t see us starting the game before 7-8pm looking at all the weather models

Mike Petriello had a good thread about Max's performance. He said it was his highest zone rate of any start this season and his lowest FB velocity. He thinks he isn't full strength after illness and that he's still building up.

It makes sense… it sounds like his stomach bug was really really nasty and he lost weight

I'd have probably started Wright or Morton (eek) at that point because even a day or two is huge for a pitcher recovering. But I truly understand going with your guy.

Yeah kinda hard to go against him when he was lights out about ready to puke last start. Although add him not being 100% to the Phillies always hitting him hard… maybe we should have waited
