Tyler Matzek to have Tommy John surgery

Snitker announced today that Matzek needs Tommy John. Will likely be out all of 2023.

I think we all knew something was off all season with him. Hope he can come back strong.

He is arbitration eligible for 2 more seasons with next year projected around $2.6M. I wonder if the Braves non-tender him.

He totally slipped my mind. Jackson and Matzek really stepped up. Jackson wasn't without his occasional hiccup, but he always answered the bell and put up some solid numbers in the process. Hope he can make it back.

Stinks for him. I wonder if they can do some type of extension. Maybe 1 year next year, 2 million 2024 and a team option at 5 with a 1 million buy out?
