GTD 10/14/22: Braves @ Philthies - NLDS Game 3

Ya we just haven’t played well.
When your starters give up a 6 pack your not gonna win many games.
Add in that with Harris, Riley and Swanson being a combined 2-18 and you’ve got why it’s about to be 2-1 Philly.

Correct. We’re extremely fortunate we’re not about to be swept. But it’ll all be over tomorrow. This offense is not built to endure a bullpen game.

Say what you want about snit and the pitching but we are losing because we can’t score. Wasted opportunities. Could have scored 1st and put the pressure on them early but we can’t get big hits. If that doesn’t change soon it will be an early exit. Did chasing the Mets down take it all out of them. Reminds me of ‘93 when we lost to the Phillies in the playoffs after chasing down the giants

It was 1-0 when strider who was done way earlier threw his slowest fastball of the year for a 3-run hR to Hoskins. If the Phillies would let us face their pitchers after they're completely cashed, we'd hit too. In case you didn't know, Nola and wheeler are damn good. Damn good pitchers usually show up big in playoffs except fried who is 50/50

Friend Fried gave up 6 and Strider gave up 4 in less than 3 innings... If we come back and score 5-6 runs like we did in game 1 it's absolutely on the pitching. The runs still count if we score them late.

I never bought into the narrative that this group was going to get LUCKY like the group that won it all last year. Outside of 1995 and last year's lucky run the Braves never show up when it counts year to year.
