GDT: Braves @ Phillies Game 4: Avoid the Death Blow

Great year this year undone at the end by several fluke plays and scenarios. A few bad plays aside, you’re not getting a series win when you get seven innings out of Strider, Fried, and Morton. Absolutely love this team and franchise though. Looking forward to 81 home games next summer.

Yup…about right…down 4 in the 7th and 3-2 count and Contreras swings for Harrisburg. He’s definitely on the right team with that approach.

Braves really need to put an emphasis on pitch selection with the offense. Both from a roster construction standpoint, and a general philosophy. Some of the swings these guys take are just brutal. Get rid of Ozuna and Rosario asap, and get someone who can take some walks in front of the homers.

And that Morton extension is becoming a bigger WTF with each start.
