2022 Elections

I hope Republicans do as much introspection as they have criticized Democrats for the failure to do so after 2016. Likely losing a senate seat in this political climate is embarrassing.

It’s perfectly acceptable that the party moves away from the Romney and Ryan’s towards populism. But it’s best for the party if they move away from Trump the Kingmaker.

Will it matter if the Democrats have an army of ballot harvesters that 'convince' people to fill out ballots? Places were ballot harvesting has been regulated and outlawed seem to have good Republican margins.

Ron Johnson wins Wisconsin, Laxalt seems likely to take NV. While a Red Wave didn't happen, Republicans could still end up in control. I think Warnock loses in a runoff to be honest.

Should have lost on the first round if not for the "I" psy-op

Kemp… a quality candidate… cruised to victory where the CTE skull looks like he got beat by a pretty lousy dem candidate

why not find issues that voters connect with ?

Polling shows voters do not connect with (R) policies.
Ballot harvesting or no ballot harvesting.

In baseball often a team has to beat not only the other team but the umpires too
GOP uninterested in any of that and run head long into deregulation and abolition of any and all New Deal polirices.
Then blame their losses on the process

One winner last night ?
Social Security

most of you too young to remember the last time GOP pressed that button

Incumbent advantage / Abrams became more toxic due to her take on ASG & VOter Supression / "I" candidate took less of the share of the vote

Your point has validity but not to the magnitude you think it does

So in places where Republicans held a ton on influence going into the midterms, they did well in the midterms. I wonder if there’s a missing correlation there beyond mail in votes.

I wanna think Georgia would make sure the republicans are in majority, but they didn't last time. Perhaps without offering $1200, it'll go the other way this time

There is a large distinction between 'Mail-ins' and 'Ballot Harvesting'

Joe Biden pushed through (limited) student debt relief --

over the objections of older moderates in the Democratic Party --

and was rewarded with the best first-term midterm results for

a Democrat since 1978,
fueled by the youth vote.

even though the Right Brothers think that policy " stupid"

There’s a difference between a popular policy and a good one.

What polling is that? Plenty of polling recently suggests Americans heavily do not support Dem policies.

regardless, people want it or they would have repudiated (D).

why then wasn't student debt relief a major campaign issue ?

answer my own question,
Because a party delivered what people wanted

spoke to a voting segment of society,,,

By speaking to them you mean giving them free (Other Peoples) money right?

Man - I can't believe that the young people LOVED that policy.
