2022 Elections

I see your point, but I think you’re then moving from a purely economical argument to a much murkier political one. And I get it, the devil is in the details. But I don’t think it changes the fact that it’s conceptually a public good. Otherwise I could play the same game with a national defense and how we spend our defense budget.

I definitely agree when it comes to our military budget. There’s no question the military is stretching well beyond the definition of a public good. One of the many reasons I’m (L), not (R).

I think the other distinction between true national defense and anti poverty measures is there’s really no private substitute for the former, but there is for the latter.

In my particular sub of construction, a normal commercial job runs between $55-80/sq ft. On military projects, that number goes up to $125/200 sq ft. Mainly bc of the headache to work on the bases... they make every project a major pain. They should cut some of the red tape on construction, and use the money on technology

Yup, no doubt

I'm lucky that I took a new job earlier this year at roughly a 35% pay increase. Of course, factoring in inflation, it's probably closer to 20%.

We started my daughter in child care this year a well. If I were still at my old job, we'd be struggling with expenses rising to what they are now. We wouldn't be pay check to pay check necessarily, but we'd definitely be struggling to put much back in savings.

Lots of narratives being fed through owned media to hide the fact that its the leadership of Mitch/McCarthy/Rhonna that ****ed things up.

Don’t take this as excusing AZ for its incompetence, but can somebody explain to me why this is evidence of voter fraud as some figures on the Right are claiming? The whole argument 2 years ago was that Dems needed to find votes. Now Dems are ahead in their races and you have the same claims.

Its not that the MCBOS is committing fraud its the fact they are so incompetent that it opens the door to fraud.

Please understand this is how a seasoned auditor would look at any company with this level of ineptitude.

People were trying to hold the MCBOS accountable but those efforts were labeled conspiracy theories!!

You actually disagree with that?

Look - I get you're in Desantis camp right now and thats great. He's awesome. But if you actually think the problem is more Trump than GOP leadership well then the people who got us into wars and bankrupted the nation are going to be very happy.

Trump doing rallys is more money than any contribution the RNC could make. He brings lots of value that isn't being met by Republican leadership.

Is it actually, though? I think there’s a very reasonable argument to be made that these rallies benefit Trump more than anybody he’s rallying with. People are tuning in for Trump, not some random guy.

And while they wait for Trump they hear Kari Lake. They hear Blake Masters. And so on...

There is tremndous coverage for the rally's which benefit all the interested parties.

Its very easy to not watch a commercial or ignore a billboard. The people at those rallys are listening and becoming force multipliers.
