Official official offseason thread

I want Verlander. We almost had him last fall. What would it take?
He probably want a 2 year deal possibly 3 year a Max Scherzer type deal. Max is making 43 million and Verlander is coming from a Cy Young and World Champion campaign. Probably he want 45 millions. We don’t have that type of money.

If we can trade Ozuna. Another player we should take a look is Rizzo. That way we move Olson-Rizzo to DH and they can have extra rest during the year. Haniger is another player that play right field and he can give days off to Acuña.

I think ole Jessie Chavez is coming back, based on his Twitter saying. I’ll see you next spring. I figured he might be back, based on boosting bullpen morale at the minimum.

We still have some scrubs to drop

Why exactly would the brewers trade away a 4 win SS with 2 years of control after missing the playoffs by 1 game?

I think it only makes sense if they could unload the Yelich contract at the same time. But that's a tough pill to swallow for two years of Adames, so there's a good chance there's little to work with there.

I mean, he was worth almost 5 fwar last season, so I'd be surprised if he's underrated by actual front offices. FGDC and Steamer both actually project him to slightly out-produce Dansby, by fwar, in 2023: 3.7/3.9 versus 3.3/3.2, mostly on the strength of better power projection.

With Swanson, as I'm sure we're all well-aware, so much depends on how you view his 2022 when projecting him going forward. While it was written back in mid-June (when Swanson was "only" pegged to finish around 5.5 fwar for the season), Szymborski had this to say:

I think it's pretty generous to think Bae will have 15 WAR over the next 6 years. The offense just isn't there, imo. And defensively, how long can he remain among the elite?

Verlander will be 40 when the season starts. Anybody who gives dude 40 a year are idiots. Especially over multiple years.

Heyward supported the ASG guy political move and cost the Org Millions...

Not bringing that guy back

Am I to assume our outfield is projected to be Duvall in Left, MH2 in center and that Venezuelan dude in right ?
Or are we going to seriously try to make a meaningful (high impact) upgrade in left ?

If AA calls me for my opinion, I'll let him know I prefer one of the big SS and someone like duvall in the OF
