Weirdly he did not feel it necessary to respond to this post

Like I have said before, peaceful protesting is called voting. 100k people can protest and it seems like a big deal but in a country of 350 million they represent a fraction of a fraction of the population. The only reason for a public protest is to call attention to an issue so that others might look into it and change the way they vote. Which someone like Kaepernick kneeling is a good example of. Most protests are just a vast minority of people throwing a hissy fit. The only other real legitimate form of protests is boycotts, but thats just voting with your money.

There is such a thang as actual oppression AND tyranny. It exists in places such as China, Russia, North Korea and Cuba. Not in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Although the citizens of all three will from time to time speak out (as is their right) about the imperfections of their societies and governments.

False equivalency, no? I think we should hold western liberal governments to a higher standard than authoritarians. Trudeau doesn’t get graded on a curve just because Xi and Putin are failing.

You could also occupy a city block and make lots of noise. As I recall there was even a group called Occupy Something or Other. Of course occupying a city block or blocking traffic inconveniences people. But that is the idea of protest sometimes. To make other people uncomfortable. Sometimes it works sometimes it backfires. And sometimes governments decide people need to be able to get home during rush hour and clear out the protesters. Other times they let the protests go on. Sometimes we like it other times we don't. Strangely whether we like it or not seems to often coincide with whether we think the cause is a good one.

Agree.

Maybe the area wouldn't have been tear gassed if the people had obeyed the order to clear because the law was concerned with another riot happening there. The night before the area had a riot where the people also tried to get to Trump. Trump had to get into the bunker where the left laughed at him.

BOOHOOHOO!!!! TRUMP IS SO MEAN!!!!!

I pointed out that due to lack of effective vaccines and vaccine hesitancy among elderly Chinese that they faced a risk of millions of deaths.

I have also advocated both for the U.S. and elsewhere finding solutions that allow policymakers to sidestep making choices between lives and livelihoods. For example, low cost interventions such as vaccines and mask-wearing. In the case of China, they have opted to go with their own vaccines, which are less effective. The other obvious thing they could work on is to work to reduce vaccine-hesitancy. All those things strike me as sensible things. As opposed to your nonsensical stream of deza regarding what should be non-controversial interventions, not to mention the hysteria about oppression AND tyranny.

This is a long lecture that does nothing to answer my question.

I'll ask you again.

Do you still believe the COVID policies of China are "not unreasonable"?

BL approves of the tyranny of Western Governments because they say it with a smile and virtue signal. Oh, and they'll use beautiful sentence structure and word usage.

Alll things that matter to him more than actual rights of Western people being trampled on.

"WELL IT WASN'T AS BAD AS HITLER!!!"

I did answer. Sowwy you didn't like it. I think they should be trying to avoid having to choose between lockdowns and having millions of deaths. Using the better vaccines developed elsewhere would be a good step toward doing that. You know, the ones that cause young people to drop dead in alarming numbers.

The same vaccines that where high adoption rate exists have experienced 15-20% excess mortality in late 2022?

YOu sure about that bud?

You were recently on record saying the extent of chinas COVID policies were "not unreasonable"

It appears you are changing your tune. So I am curious what specifically made your change your mind, and when?

Don't get it twisted.

He approves of the tyranny in China too.

He's on record for it

For sure - He is for whatever is socially acceptable to say by his colleagues of useless academics. But in reality they all want to adopt the CCP approach because the world is filled with 'uneducated' rubes.

His mind has changed because his preferred media sources are giving him the green light to critique it.

DId the lecturer muster any words on Khasoggi recently or did he only save his outrage when his nemesis was in DC?

They should be looking for policies that get them out of this predicament of having to choose between lockdowns and millions of deaths plus the collapse of a healthcare system that is not robust under the best of circumstances. And vaccines (the ones killing all the people in this country according to you, thethe and the rest of the gang) is the best way for them to get out of it.
