The #Pirates are listening on trade proposals for outfielder Bryan Reynolds, who formally requested a trade, but the asking price remains quite steep, rival GMs say, and they do not anticipate he will be moved

They’ll find somebody once they see he doesn’t really wanna be there.

I mean, he has 3 years of control, and is really ****ing good. It took an absolute ****ing haul to land Soto. I'm not sure anyone is willing to go that length for Reynolds. But just takes on GM/team.

I heard where the Braves made a strong push for Reynolds early in the offseason but the Pirates didn’t wanna trade him but are now reconsidering. Braves rejected Dansbys proposal of 6/140

If we didnt do 6/140, then hes gone. Not sure what we'd have to offer for Reynolds, but you could probably have a guy like Arcia if you get Reynolds. I dont think 6/140 is that bad for Dansby honestly, but he'll get that from someone just not us. Also not sure how true that is given nothing gets out from AA's camp.

Pirates beat writer for The Athletic:

“ During the Winter Meetings, rival GMs probably will blow up Cherington’s phone with inquiries about Reynolds. The Yankees, Marlins, Red Sox and Blue Jays are known to have interest.

At the start of the offseason, a major-league source told The Athletic the Braves might make a strong, under-the-radar push for Reynolds this winter. That could mean a sort of homecoming for Reynolds, who attended Vanderbilt and lives in Nashville, a four-hour drive from Atlanta.”

Agreed. 23 per isn’t bad but I’m guessing AA thinks Dansbys season was more of a fluke. If he won’t do 6/140 then Dansby is gone.

Not sure what we could offer, but an outfield of Reynolds, Acuna and Harris would be insane.

Grissom, Contreras and a couple pitchers is probably our best offer. Not sure if AA is gonna trade Contreras, he's a really ****ing good hitter. If AA could somehow get him and keep Contreras, thats a massssive W.

They probably being dumb asking for strider or Harris

Any team should given their contracts. Obviously off limits though. I have no idea what a possible package even looks like. Contreras and Grissom is alot, i'm fine trading some of our pitchers, we have a bit of a logjam there. Unless the Pirates like alot of our pitchers, not sure where a deal starts and ends.

Yeah I could see that being the asking price. Malloy might intrigue them too given he’s in AAA and had a good season. If we had Reynolds then we wouldn’t need Malloy.

Grissom, Malloy, Anderson, Shuster would be a good offer and I’d try to get them to take Rosario back. But if push came to shove and they wanted Contreras in place of Grissom I’d do it but it would suck.

Would you do both of Grissom/Contreras? I dont think AA would..

What’s your thoughts about Marcus Semien to play SS? I am not sure if the Rangers are done and maybe they try to add Judge and/or Rondon.

Cubs will probably have to overpay since they aren’t winning anything right now. With the Phillies having so much money tied up I figured Swanson would be their main SS target and I hope he is. I’d rather see them sign Swanson than the other 3.

Bae will go where the money is. He has his ring. I'm sure he wants to win too, but when you already have a ring, money trumps all.
