Official official offseason thread

Boy the next three years is going to be ****ty facing Turner, but I don't think JT, Bryce, Rhys, and company really age well at all.

Things will likely pick up now. Could be musical chairs with about 5 to 6 teams now pursuing the three top-tier shortstops.

I thought the DeGrom contract was so ridiculous that it wouldn't do a whole lot to the market as a whole. Then Turner signs this ridiculous deal and I am proven wrong. Turner won't be playing SS in his late-30s, so his versatility becomes a plus.

So much for DeGrom and Turner giving the Braves hometown discounts (I always laugh when fans think that will happen).

It's interesting that the Dodgers allowed themselves to be outbid on Verlander and Turner. But they are such a smart organization. Plus the Phillies and Mets have no choice because they don't have a lot of help coming through the minors right now.

The division still comes thru Atlanta. These guys are spending to try and keep up with us. We’ll have Stride and Harris for a full season and Acuna should be 100 percent healthy. That alone will improve the team. AA will no doubt make the moves to make us better. He just won’t overpay somebody in the process.

I hope this isn't lost on the fanbase.

Team is STACKED even if Dansby isn't back and we have Arcia there everyday.

Needless to say, AA will be making a big addition at some point.

The Phillies have been working on the 1980s Red Sox model of thin minor leagues and then turning over whatever prospects they have for veterans (I'm looking at you Red Sox Jeff Bagwell-for-Larry Andersen).

Reynolds price is still the same. Dansby may be rethinking things.

Reynolds salary remains the same but since the market has exploded again, the Pittsburgh gm can now ask for more in return. Doesn’t mean he’ll get it, but as the market continues to become more wealthy, and others salaries remain locked in, their value in terms of prospects/trades only go up.

Dansby is about to get paid.

AA won’t go up on his offer to Dansby so that ship has sailed. Just bc the Phillies are stupid doesn’t mean the Braves will be.

THE BRAVES SEE YOUR TURNER\MR UPTON SIGNINGS AND COUNTER!!!!

Braves signed INF Hudson Potts to a minor league contract.
Potts hit .234/.298/.453 with 14 homers and one stolen bases in 302 plate appearances over 77 games last year between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester in the Red Sox' minor league system. The 24-year-old former first-round pick gives the Braves some organizational infield depth at Triple-A Gwinnett.
