A capitalist wouldnt let the government run up debt that requires Chinese governments to buy up in order to sustain our ridiculous spending
The tarrifs have done nothing from what I can tell, other than raise costs on Americans and give Chinese more revenue

Reduced demand in some areas that shifted supply chains. It just can’t be coupled with a feckless regime that was ordered by the same communists. But I suppose since the tariffs didn’t cause a decoupling immediately you ascertain they are pointless. I get it.
But even when these things are happening we still have childish libertarians say you can’t interfere with markets!

Your solution is a centrally planned economy ran by different people than run it today.
My solution is to let bank of America and Ford and collapse when they deserve, and to let the US government default on their debt when they can't pay their bills
No behavior change will ever happen until a free.matket is installed

Why do you think that’s my solution? My only recommendation has been to stop doing business with the ccp. I’ve actually supported moving supply chains to Mexico.
The “free market” led to inviting China into the WTO and then ebslave their population.

I’ve said I just want to stop doing business with China exclusively and support American businesses. I’m fine with trade with other nations.
The WTO is an absolute extension of free market because it was pushed by forces that wanted to open more markets so that the can choose cheaper options. And no it wasn’t governments that initiated those deals. They may sign the meaningless pieces of paper but it’s forces much higher than them that made it happen.
