Here comes sunshine : spring training game 1

Our empty farm system is going to make this a pretty boring spring. I always love the second half of spring games when we get to see some of the prospects in the game. There’s just very little to care about, especially on the position player side.

And I doubt Owen Murphy or JR Ritchie will pitch in big league games. Maybe Smith-Shawver will. But our upside prospects are those young pitchers who will probably stay on the minor league side.

I'm at least interested to see how the bullpen shapes up.

This lineup is already reminding me of how badly AA botched LF/DH. If Rosario is ever batting 4th for a team…ouch. The fact Snit thinks he belongs there is another reminder of how clueless he is.

Albies is still standing in the box with his back foot on the inner line of the box. If he’s going to continue with the extreme pull happy ways he may not bounce back like we are hoping.

I do that for preseason games in youth to get my
Worst hitters more looks hopefully

Only eight spots available, probably 5-6 locks, but at least another 5-6 guys vying for the other 2-3 spots with a legit chance.

Think it's probably something like:

Iggy/Yates/Anderson/Santana/Jimenez/Minter/Lee/Luetge, that's 8.

The pitch clock rules need a bit of tweak. Games can’t ever be allowed to end that way, and this will just give all the mouth breathing idiot fans ammunition to argue against progress.

I think the clock will definitely need to be tweaked. Minor league wins and losses don't matter either. It will only take a few wins and losses in April to flip on this clock situation before everyone is up in arms.

This gives way too much discretionary power to the umpires. Can you not be “alert” with your head looking down while in the box?

“Don’t you dare blink”😀

I wonder if the umpires are going to try to make a statement about the new rules by making a few completely ridiculous calls just to illustrate the stupidity of how they could be abused.
