But the thing is that he isn't history in the GOP party apparatus and especially has influence over Fox which is in effect the mouthpiece of the RNC.

Yes - Before we knew how rotten DC was he made poor decisions. I get it - Trump is not perfect as I've said a million times.
But Ryan worked tirelessly to ensure the wall was not built because the wall is bad for traditional R donors. THat was the beginning of the end.
