The invasion/4regime.change of crimea was one of many events that led us to where we are now. We are now closer to world war than we were in 2013.

The MIC is thrilled.

My approach to global events is to want less war, not more.

Indeed. When I attributed Trump's own words to RDS with regards to Putin and Ukraine as needlessly escalatory, he completely agreed and then flipped when I showed it was trump that said it.

What I said over and over is that I don't care that Russia did what's best for Russia... But then doing so would lead to other consequences and escalations.

You want to live in a fantasy world where there would have been zero consequences and escalations due to what you strongly agree was a justified move.

Meh I give credit for trump not launching new wars but he didn't do much to end anything existing. He dropped more bombs and drones than his predecessors and also enriched the MIC by an additional 25% during his term.

By the extremely low standards of American foreign policy, he was a big time upgrade. But he wasn't good
 
Seeing this all over twitter... consistent with my experience here. it appears the playbook is to attack and insult any potential ally who wants to upgrade. not a great election strategy, but we will shall see how the coalition grows from losses the last 3 election cycles
