I am of a mind that DeSantis is/was relying on the never Trump wing of GOP.
Relying on them more than them him.

Hands down the onset of WW3 is the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th.etc.... most important thing going into the 2024 election.
Do you want WW3 or do you not? Only way to prevent it is to give land back to Russia that we effectively stole in the 2014 Maidan coup. Any other ideas of 'BEATING RUSSIA' are pipe dreams and lacks basic understanding of the facts on the ground.
Then of course there is the idea that there was a large sense of pandering to who was asking the question and who the audience was which is a massive red flag.

Maybe - I don't know too much on that but my understanding was that it was always a traditional republican stance to effectively privatize public education (A position I support 100%).

All talk and no bite, unfortunately. George bush massively expanded centralized education efforts and we haven't been able to unwind that ever since
Its a different time - COVID opened up the eyes of tens of millions of parents around the country. Good on Desantis for doing this and exercising his power.
With a bunch of states having already passed legislation to allow these types of measures its becoming a very easy position to hop on at this point. We are finally going to break up the federal/state governments control on public education. We are ten years away but we are getting close.
