2024 Field

A significant % of Republican voters and moderates swung to Biden in 2020.

And it looks like a significant part of the base is ok with writing that off and taking another L in 2024. The word cult gets bandied around a lot. Not without a certain amount of justification in this particular situation.

A lot of those people are awake at how badly they have screwed up.

The approval ratings show a lot of regret imo

Yeah but that regret doesn’t mean they’ll run back to Trump.

Starting to think the GOP is ****ed. The guy that will get the nod, has a worse chance of winning the general election than the guy not getting the nod. Makes no sense. One can only hope the left runs Harris.

All available evidence demonstrates that Trump has bigger regrets about endorsing RDS than he does about pointing Christopher Wray to lead the police force currently hunting his supporters. I have no faith that this man has learned from his mistakes

Can you find me the person that at the time said Wray would end up leading a Fedsurrection or that he would lead an intelligence operation to scrub social media of anything negative towards the 'Not Trump' candidate?

What I find amusing is that there is acknowledgement that moderate Republicans / never trumpers /etc... all voted for Biden and apparently thats cool.

But if RDS wins the nomination and the low propensity voters that only Trump brought out don't vote and RDS loses we will hear endlessly about how stupid Trump voters are and that they ruined the country.

I'll be eager to be called a cultist when Vance runs for president one day.

Then maybe you guys will understand.

I'm not making that argument.

Trump voters shouldn't vote for someone they don't support.

The argument I'm making is that I do not understand why they wouldn't support RDS based on the policies of both men.

Does Trump's statement on Christopher Wray above give you no pause?

80-90% of Trump voters will HAPPILY vote for RDS.

In the video Trump says he may have made a mistake. Do we know for sure that Wray was calling the shots? He is the 'Head of the FBI'. I think he is a POS but my position has always been that there are a powerful group of people that run the world and we have absoultely no control over the direction of this country. Well until one man won the presidancy that was never supposed to.

It's one thing to make a bad hire... Trump made tons of them

It's another thing that years later with benefit of knowing what we all know now, Trump does not express regret for that hire

What confidence should I have that he won't keep stepping on the rake?

"I may have made a mistake"

Trump would not be the only powerful person in the world that will not outright admit to making a mistake in public.

How many times does Trump have to blast Wray in public for people understand that he knows he made a mistake?

And that mistake is having bad people around him. If he doesn't change that (not allowing staffers from competing campaigns is a step in the right direction) then his potential second term will not be what it should be.

Awesome to propose this but with a D state legislature I’d say it has less than a 1% chance it passes. Saying or doing stuff on its own sadly is irrelevant.

By the time votes are cast desantis won’t even be #2. Establishment will move on to youngkin in short order.

I agree it will be a major choke job for trump not to win the nomination and a major choke job for Biden not to win the general in that circumstance
