I always thought clubhouse leadership was overrated to an extent. However look at our two oldest guys, Laird and BJ Upton (Santana isn't on the team yet).
Even when McCann wasn't hitting well, he still set the tone for the team and even Hudson after he was hurt.
Right now I think our leaders in spirit are Freeman and Laird... I hope Freeman really asserts himself as team leader and give the pep talks because the entire offense looks flat right now. I don't expect Laird to show much leadership on the field or off the field as he just strikes me as a goofball.
Heyward is too passive IMO, has to be Freddie.
