BABIP is just a data point. One that has a story behind it. What we need to see, if at all possible, is BABIP on contact locations because I assure you the BABIP on pitches that Ozzie is making contact on are VERY low.
 
Thank Ozzie’s has that insulting contract…moving him won’t be hard at all…I think we all know deep down he’s trending out to being a below average hitter. No one wants to admit it.

It’s been a while since anyone has been “concerned” about Ozzie at the plate left handed. He’s a great kid and fun to watch so people ignore the obvious.

Maybe in your mind. And Thethes, so be it. He's not a below average hitter although he is displaying troublesome tendencies.
 
Yes looks like the heavy rain will move out around 8… there will be a delay probably but I think they play.
 
If zbhargrove thinks they can play, they should. San Diego probably prefers to wait it out and play instead of playing a day-night doubleheader tomorrow on getaway day. The Padres have a 7:10 PM game in New York on Monday night, so they probably don't want to play two games tomorrow.
 
I'll wait for someone else to make today's GDT, but here is tonight's lineup:

Acuna
Olson
Riley
d'Arnaud
Albies
Rosario
Ozuna
Arcia
Hilliard

Snit is going to have to find a way to include Travis and Sean in the lineup at the same time especially with Harris out. 6-9 (and arguably 5-9) is a black hole right now. Even with Harris in, I was under the assumption that one would catch and the other would DH on opposite days.
 
Man - you guys are not nuts - the Braves have a whole staff of elite actual baseball analysts and hitting coaches that are working through all of this with Ozzie - he’s a superstar and by the middle of this season his average and HR numbers will reflect such.
Call me crazy

Murphy has yet to DH, when TDA catches. What was the point of getting him if he wont get the DH AB's?

Several of us felt this way...Murphy shouldn't be playing less..one should DH most of time. Who knows..I'm sure we will get the "it's a long season spill.." And yeah..it is,but....
 
Albies is pulling more and more pitches, swinging at more and more pitches out of the zone, and moving closer and closer to the plate in attempt to do it. It is obvious to anyone capable of looking at his fan graphs page.

Whoever these analysts the Braves have need to attempt to correct this. Albies will not rebound while leading the league in O-swing% and Pull%.

Like I said… was obvious even to my 9 year old. You would hope someone can get in his ear and he can not be stubborn about it
