You may want to go back and peruse some of Berensons info.

Reminder. Population growth in counties voting for crediby accused creepy joe in 2020 comfortably exceeded population growth of counties voting for very poorly chosen one.

There's nothing better than lefts unwillingness to acknowledge that their policies are killing their states. Further proof that there is no hope in saving them

San Francisco and California have made plenty of policy mistakes. But I think it would be an enormous mistake to adopt ruby red America as some sort of template for the way forward. Unless soaring rampant violent crime and all sorts of social pathologies and poverty are the objectives.

hich states have the highest rates of diagnosed anxiety and depression?

According to the 2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), the states with the highest rates of diagnosed anxiety and depression are:

West Virginia (18.6%)
Kentucky (16.7%)
Louisiana (16.6%)
Oklahoma (16.5%)
Alabama (16.3%)
These states all have a higher prevalence of diagnosed anxiety and depression than the national average of 11.4%. There are a number of factors that may contribute to these high rates, including poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to healthcare.

It is important to note that these rates are based on self-reported data, so they may not be entirely accurate. However, they do provide a good indication of the areas of the country that are most affected by anxiety and depression.

I think the migration trends of California, Texas, New York, and Florida may offer some prescriptive policy advice for states to follow or not to

Florida's population has grown by 300,000 per year with very little variation by decade since 1970. What conclusions do you draw from that?

Population growth by decade:

1970s 3.0 million
1980s 3.2 million
1990s 3.0 million
2000s 2.8 million
2010s 2.7 million

I can set my watch to you using decades old data to make a 2023 point

But I do enjoy Gavin Newsome traveling to Florida to tell their citizens how horrible they have it under RDS

Newsome like Desantis is starting a campaign. I don't know if he'd have the stones to run against Biden in primaries. BUt he's clearly putting in effort.

bump

take Georgia for example...there is an almost perfect correlation between counties losing population and counties voting red

there is plenty of evidence in either thread that red counties and red states have enormous and growing amounts of violent crime and other social dysfunctions

including the data on depression and anxiety i posted (which mainly reflect the poverty that exists in those states)

This quote from the WSJ on the rural wave of violent crime well summarizes the situation in ruby red America. It went up in 2020 and has kept going up, unlike the rest of the country where it subsided in 2022. It looks like they have now gotten bored with victimizing their neighbors and moved on to cows. I suppose some will hang their hats on the possibility that the ritualistic cow slayings are the works of mentally ill libs. Or former Californians!

“It was like people lost their ever-lovin’ minds,” said Ms. McCoy, the prosecuting attorney in White County, a dry county in central Arkansas with poultry farms and a Christian university.
