So the mets threw a bullpen game and has their pen in better shape for game 2 than the Braves do. We used more pitchers and if you follow conventional wisdom, those pitchers won't be available tonight. We burned Anderson for 12 pitches and Minter for 19 pitches and Chavez for 9 pitches.

On a side note, Minter has to be livid about some of the pitches he’s been getting beaten on. He’s made some mistakes but the 96 MPH pitch to Escobar that was a homer was EXACTLY where Murphy wanted it. Just awful luck
