The dangers of turning off employment can be done in many other ways.
You either want to address the fact that corporations are using a form of slave labor or you don't. Until we fix the American middle class we are going to be destroyed as a nation.

I’m aware of the libertarian talking point. As long as you’re comfortable that the enemy is only able to use governmental power to protect their voters we will always lose.

There are ways to secure our border without serving the federal government a massive power grab over all Americans and American businesses. I would highly support a militarized operation to the boarder. I would shut down literally all new immigrations today. I would give incentives to CBP for deportations. I ma very happy to come down hard on the border situation because it's an actual nightmare.
if you cannot see how federal e-verify could and would be turned against real Americans and real businesses, then I am dumbfounded by the lack of vision. Imagine the government turning off employment for a hair salon bc they didn't comply with a mask mandate. Or the government outrageously punishing a gym because they unkowingling hired an illegal immigrant. or the government requiring ESG and social credit scores from businesses or else face reprimanding of their staff. You know this will only be turned on right wing citizens as all government power has become.
This would now be FEDERAL power meaning Joe Biden and Merrick Garland get to pick and choose who to pick on.

So you're giving power to the federal government to stop illegal immigration?
The government literally did all of those things without E-Verify. So using a boogeyman that already happened without E-Verify doesn't move the needle at all.
What are you going to do about the tens of millions of illegals currently in the country? How are you going to stop the inflow that happens at non-ports of entry? Militarizing the border is great but all it is is just another governemtn use of power which we need at this point in time.
