All star game

Acuna is a lock as the NL OF starter with the most votes in MLB. Voting starts Monday and is onto phase 2 with the top 2 players going head to head for the starting spots. Right now we have Murphy, Olson, Riley, Ozzie, Arcia, and Harris as all being finalists lol. That’s insane to think about that we could have 7 of the 9 starters for the All Star game.

Didn't even notice Harris getting into the final voting block.

Of those left Murphy and Arcia should be starters. Hopefully Olson and Albies can make it as reserves due to their power numbers.

I think since it’s down to the final 2 for most positions that they are both guaranteed to be all stars but only the top vote getter gets to start.

Am I the only person who would rather see guys on my favorite team rest during the break than go to the game?

I have no interest in the ASG in any sport

agree. I would just name the honors, argue about them, and move on.

That said, baseball has a problem that there is no national discussion, it's all regional. So bringing everyone together could be a great marketing event....but no evidence they'll improve.

I am with Enscheff where I'd rather none of my guys play, especially pitchers. If they aren't signed to extensions it just makes them more expensive and give everyone a chance to be hurt.

Tough competition at 2b this year. Doubt Albies makes it in unless multiple guys back out. I'm guessing Arraez wins the starting nod and McMahon is the back-up as the Rockies only selection.

Final voting for the starting 2b starts Monday and it’s down to Ozzie and Arraez with the loser making it anyway if I heard right. With all the votes the Braves have been getting I don’t think Ozzie loses.

I don’t generally care about the all star game, but it would be very cool if they can swing it so 7 of the 9 positions are filled by Braves for an inning.

Even if they just did the entire diamond and pitcher for a half inning would be outrageous.

Riley, Arcia, Olson, Murphy.

You'd have to put Elder on the mound not strider just to guarantee a ground ball or possible double play. Riley to Arcia to Olson double play. Then final out is Murphy throwing out a runner to Ozzie.

I didn't realize how putrid NL 3b had been this year. No qualified NL 3b has an OPS over .825 right now.

Also I'm surprised Ozzie made it considering the strong 2b class this year. I thought for sure that Marte would get the backup 2b spot.

Let's be real here. With player voting selecting most of the reserves the big numbers here are HR and RBI.

Funny that the Phillies got a by-default selection. All that money and they needed a “each team gets a rep” nod

Strider by far the baddest looking dude in this picture.

It would have been nice to give our (literally) everyday players a few days off. But I'm just really glad none of our guys participates in the HR derby. That's gotta be 2 weeks' worth of high-effort swings for someone going far in that event.
