We often ask ourselves how good this offense could be if everyone was hitting at the same time. Guess this is the answer.

Best team in baseball. When this team is clicking nobody is on our level. Hopefully we get Max back after the break healthy and can make a few pitching trades bc we need it.

Who do you send down when healthy if you make a trade? Our top 6 in the pen is Chavez/Lee/McHugh/Anderson/Minter/Iggy then you have JoJim/Yates/Tonk/Heller as extra depth? That's 10 right there. I guess that's up for AA to decide though, not us.

Depending on the right trade there is room to upgrade. Strider, Fried, Elder, Morton, and ? I’d send AJSS back to AAA to get more seasoning.

The Pads lineup seems way too good and their pitching is decent enough that they should be much better than they are. Coincidentally, their Pythag is 42-36. If they don't turn it around by the AS Break, I think Melvin will be the sacrificial goat.

I think the Cards have the best chance to do anything with them playing in the central. not sure what schedules are left for those teams, but I would say, Cards, Pads, Mets in that order have the best shot at the playoffs.

It won't happen because of the owner's ego, but the Mets need to sell off any part that they can (Verlander, Scherzer, Marte, etc.).
St. Louis has shown zero consistency in winning, but with the central division, all it would take is a couple of 8-2 stretches for them to be right back in it. I think the Reds will cool down extremely due to their pitching woes.

You're correct. But they could probably get a decent haul too by just eating those player's salaries for the team they send them to. Will be interesting to see if Buck gets fired if they miss the playoffs. Doesn't seem like his fault here.
As much as I would like to see this, the Mets still have a good hitting core. They just wasted way too much money on 40 year old pitchers. But they can get out from under those contracts within 2 years (may be both by next year depending on innings pitched). So it's extremely unlikely they sell with a solid core and 100 million in payroll space becoming freed up.

I don't think the Mets would sell just because the older expiring contracts that they could sell, no one would buy unless they ate money.. in the case of player options, that money can't be eaten since it is not technically on the books.. so they would then have to do another trade for cash consideration and wait till Max opt'd for that player option. I agree with others, they are just going to ride it out and wait for money to clear to do a quicker reboot.
