The Biden Presidency

I take note 57 exited the stage here

Bought a new Silverado late 90s for ~$20K~
of course there are factors but ...

that would be roughly 2 1/2 decades.

Compare HC coverage since then as well.

I rely more on that metric than dollars and cents.
A healthy society to my mind is priceless
and a fools errand to argue otherwise

What is the old Jewish adage " at least you have your health"

I can’t stop laughing about the fact that the Republican’s

‘missing man’ and so-called “whistleblower” on the Biden family’s

allegedly ‘corrupt’ business dealings in China turned out to

be an f’ng Chinese spy.

It’s just so perfectly perfect, I mean… come on.

Are American citizens health better or worse today than they were a decade ago?

personally , no.
my age demographic, no

Without looking it up generally I would guess no

Rise in diabetes and obesity, due to the for profit food industry
and a basic societal lack of dietary education

as medical research advances new diseases are identified
which I think is a good thing

certain you have an answer or you wouldn't ask the question
curiosity and asking questions to simply get an answer you don't know
has never been your strong suit.
I think the term is, " loaded question"

What is a loaded question?
It occurs when someone asks a question containing an unjustified (and often offensive) presupposition.

What is an example of a loaded question?
An example would be: “So, have you always had a gambling problem?”

What is the difference between a leading question and a loaded question?
A leading question is one that suggests the answer desired by the speaker, while a loaded question includes an implicit assumption about the respondent.

51 Examples of A Loaded Question

Who do you blame when your projects fail? Is it difficult to hide your incompetence?
Are you planning to resign before you're fired? Has your manager noticed that your project is failing?
Do you actually believe your own lies? Which color do you want? [salesperson implies that you have already decided to buy]
When did you become an alcoholic? Do you feel guilty for your privilege?
Why do you feel that our firm is the best employer in America? Why are our hamburgers the best?
Did you vote for that terrible authoritarian ____ ? Do you still drive that ugly car?
Which of your bad habits is the worst? How often do you say things just to hurt people's feelings?
When did you decide to sabotage our project? Do you regret all your bad decisions?
Have you stopped cheating on your taxes? Why aren't you pregnant?
Why aren't you married yet? Why haven't you been promoted yet? [implies you're lagging in your career]
Why aren't accountants creative? How did you get away with it?
Why did you steal it? Does your emotional instability stem from your childhood?
Will you vote for that job-destroying bill? Why do you let others think for you?
When do you think you'll be fired? When did you shoot him?
When did you give up on your health? At what time did you see Mr. Smith shoot Mr. Wilson?
Is your team okay with your low performance? Are you always late for meetings because of a personal issue?
How many times did you cheat on your exams? Do people get annoyed when your disrespectful to them?
Why are you angry? What's wrong?
How do you deal with your experience of marginalization? Do you ever take things seriously?
How often do you act out for attention? Do you enjoy your role in an oppressive power structure?
When is the last time you went to jail? Where did you go to University? [implies everyone goes to University]
What were you wearing when you robbed the bank? Where were you born?
What is your home country? When did you come to [country]?
How can you just blindly follow the crowd? Why are you unhappy with our service? [when trying to cancel]
When did you become so unhappy? How do you sleep at night? [assumes a guilty conscience]
Why did you do it?

Well my original premise is that the government intervention has not improved Healthcare in this counrty... it's actually made it worse.

You rejected that and praised Biden for more intervention.

Since then, we have both agreed that:

1. Government intervention has significantly increased in Healthcare over the last few decades

2. Healthcare costs have significantly increased over the last few decades (adjusting for inflation)

3. American health has declined over the last few decades

What conclusions can you draw from these three facts?

1) of course, we are covering more people and "government" is funding more research

2)that was addressed when talking about buying a full size $20K~ truck 25 years ago
Look at housing from 25 years ago. Yes inflation but ...
pharmaceutical prices 25 years ago have like everything else blown right past inflation

3) Over course it has. We are beginning the recovery from a pandemic. Our citizenry is aging rapidly
at every turn any attempt to educate the public on diet and well ness is blocked by, anti government
regulation forces or simply mocked away ala Ms Obama's White House garden torn out by the Trumps
I left my opinion above
you make no attempt to understand
///////////////////////

government intervention alone will not solve our health issues.
It will require a citizenry that sees beyond politics
and willing to in good faith back programs favored by the majority of Americans
Yes, beginning with ACA all the way to Covid
Let's see if you can hold two opposing views in your head at once ??
//////////////////

you can go back to Make America Beautiful programs begun by Lady Bird Johnson. Not many here remember what a trash heap our streets and parks wee until we as a people put our politics aside and cleaned up the mess.
It too was met with anti "government" resistance. At first

So you and I both agree that despite massive government intervention in healthcare, costs and outcomes have gotten significantly worse, correct?

Costs because of an upward inflated evolving global economy.
Looking at that late 90s truck.
Looking at a bottle of aspirin or box of bandaids
Everything costs more

Outcomes ?

For example
Thinking a person that can now afford Insulin without deciding what other essentials must be traded would strongly disagree with that simplistic view..

You keep making an irrelevant point.

Real (inflation adjusted) costs are way up. Costs per citizen is way up.

But outcomes are way down

do you think it is possible that the government is not helping the situation?

What conclusions can we draw from this chart?

Real inflation adjusted pharmasuticals?

I have told you for years assessing health care based on cost alone is nonsense.
We are discussing health. Not commodities.

Secondly, where have you stood on Department of Health and Human Services funding for well ness out reach and education ?
School lunches and breakfasts.
Oh, public school funding
Ben Franklin would snide penny wise pound foolish.

Kinda want it both ways do ya ?

Real inflation adjusted pharmasuticals?

Yes. With increased technology, free markets should see these cost reduced. Do you disagree?

I am assessing costs and outcomes... since costs have exploded, I would assume that would result in better outcomes. The opposite is true. This is a failure

Secondly, where have you stood on Department of Health and Human Services funding for well ness out reach and education ?

I want them defunded and eliminated. But in reality their funding is at record levels

School lunches and breakfasts.

We spend more on school lunches and breakfasts than anytime in our country's history - inflation adjsuted

Oh, public school funding

We spend more per student - inflation adjusted - today than we have in our nation's history. Similarly to healthcare, despite the explosion in spending...the outcomes of our students are near record lows

Kinda want it both ways do ya ?

I don't know what you mean here, but no I don't. while you celebrate even more government intervention in these things, I'm merely pointing out that their doing so has correlated (and in my opinion - caused) and enormous increase in costs and a substantial decrease in quality.

You've yet to make an argument against that... you just keep talking about trucks and school lunches

All the moderate Dems and Independents that voted against 'mean tweets' are responsible for this and I believe majority of those people will make the right decision next time around to overcome the cheating (hopefully offset by the Republican cheating).

This is just sad and whats even worse are the people that pretend that Biden isn't a vegetable.
