7.14.23 GDT - White Sox at Braves

It's boring bc they're so good. This regular season has no drama. I just hope they don't go ice cold in October bc they're the best team

Happened so many times in late 90s early 2000s. Hopefully the youth on this squad is different.

Playoffs. Ha. well just be prepared to have home games during the weekday that start at 9:45 am and then road games that are weekend games that are prime time so their opponents can fill a crappy stadium with crappy fans in a crappy city.

Are you secretly Manfred?

Our road playoff games will likely only be on Apple TV

Not good.

Well, we have such a big lead, we can afford it. But not having Chavez, Anderson or Minter to bridge to Iggy is tough right now. McHugh is probably 8th inning, and then whatever Snit feels like other than that. We know what AA's shopping for at the deadline, best BP guys.

AJ's also been used a LOT, so not too mad he's getting a couple weeks rest. Even though we'll miss him.

I hope we don’t make Collin an 8th inning guy. Not only do I hate that term Collin has been horrible this year. I don’t want to see a 1.5 whip every damn night.

Who are the other options? JoJim, Yates, Heller? Outside of that, you have Tonk, Luetge and Rodriguez. Other than the outing in Cincy, he's given up 1 run in his last 11 outings.

Also a 3.2 ERA for the year is not horrible by any means.

What the hell is wrong with Chavez? It was supposed to be just a shin contusion. He’s been out over a month with no sign of returning. Minter supposedly only had a cramp, now he’s dead. Wtf.

Chavez is also damn near 40, but given the lead we're probably just being super cautious with him. I dont mind putting AJ on the IL, he's been overused like crazy, could use a couple weeks off honestly. Other than Rodriguez and Luetge, im okay with the pen until the deadline.

Everything I’ve read about Minter recently has been encouraging. It doesn’t seem like it’ll be long term. I’d guess he’s fine if the playoffs were going, but maybe I’m being a little optimistic.

Still, I’m guessing AA lands a bigger-name relief pitcher and another guy who is an under-the-radar stats darling.

Update last night said Wright, Lee, and Chavez should be back throwing off a mound soon.

Yeah, they also said Chavez was only going to miss a week.

We need 2 good bullpen arms come the deadline. There should be plenty of good options out there for AA to choose from.
