Deficit spending in 4 budget years set by Trump - 8.2 trillion


Even if you take out the Corona year that is still 4 trillion in 3 years. That would be an 8 year pace for 10.6 trillion even if we discard the virus year
 
Remember - Sturg made the claim that the CARES act was the reason for 25% inflation. Surely you can show me that this solely caused a thing despite no material movements in inflation while trump was in office.

Maybe just maybe inflation was driven by energy party and subsequent printing after aggregate demand returned to the market.

The general idea is less spending when the economies bad and you cut back spending when the economy is good. Trump dont give two ****s about the future so he spent like a drunken sailor when the economy was good and that made it better in the short term and he claimed to be economic Jesus. And clearly it worked on a lot of people. Inflation lags behind policy. Bidens policies will cause inflation but his policies didnt even have time to take effect before the Trumpflation hit us. Bidens not making it better but he didnt start the fire, he just poured gasoline on it.

Inflation started to spike in March 2021... 2 months into Biden's presidency and just before Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act. The price of oil was $68, which was elevated from the covid year but well below the December 2019 price $72 per barrell.

my original point about the CARES Act was that in allowed the mail in voting which cost him the election.

The inflation was just a kick in the nuts on top of it
