Yeah, i'm not sure why it cost that much to get Scherzer. He's had some good games, but i didnt think it would cost a player like that to get him. JV might get more if he's dealt.

He's owed over 100M, he's on the wrong end of 30, and odds are the cardinals aren't gonna be amazing any time soon. Sure Arenado may be one of the best in the game. But unless you expect to compete next year, trade him and get as much of a haul as possible.

I like this move for the Mets just fine, but if they plan on competing next season, they’ll need to sign a starting pitcher and Scherzer on a one year contract would have been a fantastic option.
