The Movie does suck.
SWM aren’t going to that movie willingly
After watching The Wolf of Wall Street, I think just about any straight guy would be willing to go see any movie with Margot Robbie.

Saw Oppenheimer in 70mm today. Holy **** it should win all the Oscars. Cillian deserves best actor, Downey supporting actor, Blunt supporting actress, sound design, adapted screenplay, director you name it. It was a nearly flawless film
Phenomenal movie and I'll pretty much leave it at that. I'm an American history buff (mostly political history) and knew of Oppenheimer and his work (and some of the controversy that followed him), but this is an example of how a biographical picture can be presented in a way that is much more than that.
Wish someone had the balls to do a movie on Von Braun.
Barbie up to 750 Million globally, Oppenheimer approaching 500M. Oppenheimer isn't in China yet, though I doubt that will matter.
This is cutting against the idea that people aren't willing to go to the movies anymore. People are willing to go, they just need good content.

You got to adjust for inflation, but even still, it's been a solid year for theatrical releases overall for just about everyone except Disney. But as we know, Disney scores a lot more than others off of merch, so they should make up much of that there.
Guardians slayed. If it had a better lead in than Antman it would have been a billion dollar film.
Wakanda forever and Multiverse of Madness killed in the box office last year too.
I don't think Disney has been taking as many Ls as people think. THey just went from being the most dominant force to not, and I think Disney+ is a healthy part of that. Though they are slower to release than anything else.
What's sad to me is Disney really bungled haunted mansion. Like why the **** is it coming out in July, it would have played better in September. It also is coming out between Barbie and TMNT. It's bad marketting, it will have IMO a similar issue to the D&D movie where it's release will hurt it.

I think you can pretty much guarantee The Marvels will have a mediocre showing as well. Aside from Spiderman, Black Panther 2, Loki, and Wandavision, the MCU has been extremely mediocre to bad after Endgame. I wasn't super impressed with Dr Strange 2, but it was solid I guess.
Ms. Marvel is a fun show. I do wonder how they'll be able to balance the tone of that show with that hero with the much grittier need for Captain Marvel.
I couldn't even make it completely through Ms. Marvel. Very mediocre. It wasn't nearly as bad as She-Hulk though, which was just awful. I made it maybe 3 episodes into She-Hulk before I had bow out.
I haven't really gotten into Secret Invasion yet. Not because it isn't good, I just haven't made time for it yet. I've watched like 2 episodes, and it's been solid, yet unspectacular. So far, I would put it above The Falcon and Winter Soldier, but below Moonknight, which I really enjoyed. And of course, Hawkeye, Wandavision, and Loki are easily the top 3 MCU series so far and it's not remotely close, imo (assuming we're not counting the Netflix shows as MCU).
