It’s either he hits fifth or seventh … and the Braves would rather have Ozuna hitting fifth right now …. When he gets hot again they’ll adjust I’m sure .. awesome problem to have

Could be Murphy is pressing and Snit wants to shake things up… could be some weird lineup thing from the front office… could be Snit hates Irish Americans. Whatever reason, it doesn’t really matter all that much because the lineup is so deep.
 
It matters because snit believes TD is better than Murphy. It’s a problem when a manager believes an inferior player is better than a superior player. I guess we can say “trust AA will make call in playoffs”

End of the day I don’t love it when a manager has a shockingly incorrect view on a talent assessment

To me it is deeply concerning that our manger has a view that Rosario has earned hitting above Murphy as well. Playoffs every marginal thing matters. A rally in the 9th and Olson up and he gets intentionally walked to get to Ozuna and Rosario instead of Murphy - will be a problem. Will be a bigger issue when Murphy is simply on the bench for TD

You pick an interesting hill to die on.

This is not forever. Lots of season still to go. This does not determine the playoff lineup.
 
I’ve just seen the writing on the wall for months and been making the same point and kept getting told I was wrong and that it was simply to rest Murphy. I’m posting in frustration at snit that we are seeing increasing evidence that he has come to one of the worser talent assessment conclusions I can honestly remember seeing

With that said I’ve made my point and I will resign from posting on this one! One exception - if Murphy is on the bench again tmrw I will circle back with a victory lap that I was correct in concluding he in snit mind is no longer our starting catcher

How bad has Murphy been lately? It could be possible they are decreasing his workload because he’s dinged up a bit.

One thing I won’t question about the Braves any longer is how they handle the catcher position. They have proven beyond all doubt they have the secret sauce for that position dialed in.
