GDT 9/3/23: Braves @ Dodgers - Uncle Charlie sweeps up

Sweep would have been nice, but weirdly there is delivering a message (which we did) and there is giving a team SO much of a message, where you can just see them then embracing some BS "underdog mentality" come postseason, etc. and all the BS story lines "we remember when they swept us, we did not forget, we took it personal, etc."

Don't mind the poetic justice of a 3 of 4 and likely secured HF advantage.

Would have obviously loved to win that one today, but if you would have told me before this west coast trip that the Braves would take eight of the ten, including three of four in LA, I would have taken it, no questions asked. Enjoy the Labor Day off and get the Cardinals Tuesday night.

Result of the game doesn‘t really matter, but Riley‘s gotta stop swinging at pitches 8 inches inside in big situations. Did the same thing against SF last week (multiple times).

Needed another Acuña bomb today. My one regret.

We did get a nice MVP chant going though.

Hard to complain about taking 3/4 in LA, and 8 of 10 on the West Coast trip. Get some rest Monday and back at it next Tuesday.

Last year it was day games. This year it's Sundays.

Snit needs to just go full Bobby and go with Sunday lineups.

****. Game 7s are usually on Sundays.

Luckily for us this year:

NLDS Game 5: Saturday
NLCS Game 7: Tuesday
WS Game 7: Saturday

Side note: I'll be at a wedding in Texas on the night that would be Game 7 of the World Series. If it's us, I will not be paying attention to the post-wedding reception.

Hell of a series win, braves

Elder's start against them was pretty encouraging. Did exactly what we needed to do overall. Now let's just handle our business against the NL Central bottom teams and we may be in position to clinch the East in Philly, which would be hilarious.
